What is RaveDAO and why are we doing this?
We are building a new cultural layer, a cultural ecosystem belonging to Web3, where technology, music, and people are brought together once again.

We are ushering in Rave3.0, standing at the intersection of culture, technology, and community. What RaveDAO is building is a Cultural Layer rooted in the crypto community.
Rave 1.0: Underground Rebellion
The origins of Rave can be traced back to the late 1980s. At that time, the Cold War had ended, the old order was collapsing, and society was undergoing drastic transformation. Factories were closing, youth unemployment was rising, and LGBTQ groups were marginalized. The whole world was shrouded in uncertainty and anxiety. Many people were left behind by the system, and they began to seek an outlet through music, light, and their bodies.
The driving force behind Rave 1.0 was rebellion and self-identity under social repression. In forgotten warehouses and open suburbs, a new rhythm was born. Techno was not just a melody; it was a declaration, a collective awakening. Rave became a refuge for escaping reality and a ritual for finding like-minded people. There were no stages, no brands, no algorithms—only rhythm and resonance. Rave 1.0 was the first fusion of music, freedom, and the spirit of equality.
Rave 2.0: The Era of Festivals
Entering the 21st century, the world economy prospered and technological connectivity accelerated. Those initial underground gatherings gradually evolved into global music festivals. Brands such as Tomorrowland, Ultra, EDC, and Coachella emerged one after another, and music festivals became a new cultural symbol.
The hallmark of Rave 2.0 was the shift from spontaneous culture to industrialization and the experience economy. Dozens became thousands, thousands became hundreds of thousands. For the first time, music was perceived as a global language. Artists became idols, stages became symbols. Rave 2.0 brought this culture into mainstream society and showed the world the cohesion and economic potential of music. For twenty years, the world has celebrated life through dance.
Rave 3.0: The Return of Meaning
Today, we are once again at a new turning point. The global economy is slowing, consumption is downgrading, and tech giants are laying off workers. The costs of large music festivals remain high, and the expenses for tickets, flights, and accommodation are daunting. After the pandemic, people care more about authenticity and experience, and are no longer willing to be swept up by grand appearances.
The core of Rave 3.0 is a return from scale to connection, from consumption to culture. At the same time, AI has made life more efficient, but also more hollow. Attention is divided by algorithms, and inequality is widening again. People are beginning to ask themselves anew: what are we really searching for?
Rave 3.0 is re-emerging in this context. It is not a return, but an evolution. People want to reconnect in smaller, more authentic, more community-based spaces. Music is once again becoming a social language, not just background noise.
As the ancient saying goes: "Great affairs under heaven, after long division must unite, after long unity must divide." Culture also has its own cycles. Rave moved from underground to mainstream, and now returns to its essence. Rave 3.0 is a new intersection of technology and humanity, an era where music, technology, and community grow together again.
The Dilemma of the Crypto World
Meanwhile, the crypto world has also reached a critical stage. Over the past ten years, this industry has experienced countless narratives and disillusionments. From "the decentralized utopia" to "the new global financial order," countless projects have raised tens of millions of dollars, yet few have real users. Many innovations have become short-term speculative tools, and more people are beginning to doubt what this industry can truly bring.
The original intention of crypto was freedom, creativity, and ownership. But as traditional capital and institutional forces entered, these values have gradually been diluted. We've talked about mass adoption for years, but have never truly reached ordinary people. Today, crypto still mainly serves a minority who understand technology and trading.
If we truly want to bring the world on-chain, we must find a more natural way to encourage more people to participate. Crypto should not just be a financial tool; it should become a culture, a form of expression, something that ordinary people can understand and feel.
We believe that culture itself is the strongest bridge.
Culture can convey emotion, educate, connect, and inspire resonance. Every technological revolution in human history has ultimately permeated society through culture. Technology without a cultural carrier cannot touch people's hearts.
Why We Are Building RaveDAO

RaveDAO is a movement, a community, and a cultural network that is growing wildly. It was born in the context of crypto, but extends the meaning of technology through culture.
We started from a 200-person afterparty in Istanbul, and in just one year quickly grew into a 5,000-person carnival and release in Singapore. After the event, countless people came to tell us that their friends were discussing the event on Xiaohongshu and Instagram, and that it was the first time they saw a brand from Web3 truly enter mainstream entertainment and youth culture.
RaveDAO is not just about organizing events, but about creating a Web3 native Cultural Layer through the combination of music, art, technology, and community.
The development of technology needs a cultural carrier; culture is the path for technology to reach people's hearts. Crypto is not just Layer 1, Layer 2, or Layer 3—it also needs a Cultural Layer. And that is exactly what we are doing.
The essence of the crypto world is the attention economy. Price fluctuations, narrative changes, speculative sentiment—all are ultimately battles for attention. Entertainment is the same. The difference is, we hope to generate positive spillover effects from attention, allowing emotions, energy, and returns to flow back into the real world.
In the past year, through the proceeds from RaveDAO events, we have funded over 400 cataract patients in Nepal to regain their sight, and supported 150 meditation projects in Seattle, USA. We believe that the power of culture is not just about resonance, but also about extending goodwill.
RaveDAO is a cultural community rooted in Web3, a crypto movement that influences the world through music and creativity. We collaborate with brands, co-create with communities, and continuously connect with top artists and music festivals worldwide, using action to let more people naturally "step on-chain."
We want the world to see that Web3 is not just technology, but also a culture.
It can be open, inclusive, and warm.
It can help people reconnect, find belonging, and discover meaning.
In Conclusion
Every cultural movement begins with a shared awakening. RaveDAO is our response to this era. We believe that crypto should not just be a game of speculation, but a force for connection; music should not just be a rhythm for escaping reality, but a language for re-understanding freedom.
We are building a new cultural layer, a cultural ecosystem belonging to Web3, where technology, music, and people are reunited as one.
We believe the world is ready.
This time,
We use culture,
to connect each other, the community, and the future.
