Lutnik: Progress on the Second Day of China-U.S. Trade Talks is Smooth
U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick stated on Tuesday that trade negotiations with China are progressing smoothly. Both parties held a second day of talks in London, seeking a breakthrough on export control issues. These issues could potentially lead to another rift between the two superpowers. Last month, the U.S. and China reached a preliminary agreement in Geneva to lift a comprehensive trade embargo. Previously, Washington accused Beijing of blocking the export of rare earth minerals crucial to its economy, leading to strained relations between the two countries. Currently, U.S. and Chinese officials are attempting to get back on track.
