Crypto Asset Reserve Bill Submitted to Ukrainian Parliament
Ukrainian lawmakers have registered a draft bill in parliament regarding cryptocurrency reserves, officially allowing the National Bank to include cryptocurrencies in the country's national reserves. Bill No. 13356, submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on June 10, is a series of amendments to the Law of Ukraine on the National Bank, involving the inclusion of crypto assets in gold and foreign exchange reserves. Ukrainian lawmaker Yaroslav Zhelezniak confirmed the introduction of the bill on his Telegram channel, stating that while the bill authorizes the Ukrainian central bank to allocate cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin as part of the national reserves, it does not mandate the institution to do so. The bill also does not limit the amount of crypto assets the National Bank of Ukraine can allocate: "How to allocate, when to allocate, and how much to allocate should be decided by the regulatory authority itself."
