Wintermute to Vote Against AAVE’s Brand Asset Control Transfer to Holders Proposal Over Governance Details and Token Value Capture
Wintermute CEO Evgeny Gaevoy said he will vote against the AAVE ARFC ‘Brand Asset Control Transfer to Holders’ proposal, citing insufficient specificity around governance of the frontend, brand ownership, profitability, and operational framework. He stressed that the model must clearly define who controls the brand assets and how revenue is captured, noting this is central to token value capture and long-run alignment in AAVE governance.
Gaevoy added that the debate highlights friction between the community and the project’s governance arms over revenue distribution and brand rights. The Snapshot vote on the proposal—covering ownership of domain, social accounts, naming rights, and related IP—remains open through December 26, with the DAO granted oversight of these assets.
Wintermute has been an active participant in AAVE governance since 2022, and Gaevoy hopes the episode will push a credible framework for DAO governance and token value capture that may guide other tokens.
