Texas Residents Fail to Pass Anti-Noise Vote: Bitcoin Mining Disturbance Issues Persist
According to Jinse Finance, citing Cointelegraph, a vote by residents of Hood County, Texas, to establish a new municipality called "Mitchell Bend" in order to regulate local bitcoin mining noise did not pass, with only 38% of voters in support. Around 600 local residents have suffered for years from noise issues caused by MARA's operation of 60,000 bitcoin mining machines, resulting in insomnia, headaches, and other health problems. Although MARA has expanded soundproof walls and partially adopted liquid cooling systems, the noise issue remains unresolved.
