- Mythical Games has partnered with Sam Altman’s World to integrate “proof of human” verification and limit the effects of bots in player economies.
- Under the partnership, Mythical will launch Mythos Chain, marking the debut of a Layer-3 blockchain built atop World Chain.
Worldcoin, rebranded as World / World Network, is taking another step toward mainstream adoption by teaming up with Mythical Games, a US-based game development studio founded in 2018.
The collaboration aims to bring “Proof of Human” digital identity verification to some of the world’s most recognizable gaming titles, including NFL Rivals, FIFA Rivals, and the Pudgy Penguins-inspired Pudgy Party.
Founded by Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, Max Novendstern, and Alex Blania under Tools for Humanity, World’s mission is to create a global digital identity network that distinguishes real humans from bots.
The system uses the company’s signature World ID, a privacy-preserving credential obtained after an in-person iris scan using a device called the Orb. According to World’s website, the project has already verified more than 17 million users worldwide.
Tackling the Bot Problem in Gaming
Under this new partnership, Mythical Games will integrate World’s Proof of Human ID technology into its gaming ecosystem. Players who log in or sign up to play Mythical’s titles will be able to verify their human status through the World network. This initiative is designed to curb the growing influence of bots in online gaming.
“While bots do have a place in gaming, they can also be used to manipulate in-game economies, gain an unfair advantage, and snag rewards that should go to human players,” the companies said in a joint statement. “Nearly 75% of gamers say these uninvited ‘players’ are making games less fun,” they added, referencing a World survey published in April 2025.
The survey noted that the trend in Latin America mirrors global findings. Based on responses from over 48,000 World App users across Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, and Mexico, 84% of participants said they want to know whether they’re competing against bots in online games, while 60% believe bots make gaming less enjoyable.
The world blog then referenced a research paper that also revealed that bot activity surged dramatically, reaching 147 billion requests in January 2024, over six times higher than the same month a year earlier.
“Millions of players flock to Mythical’s titles not only because they’re fun, but also because the Mythical platform lets them truly own and trade their game assets,” the companies noted.
By integrating Proof of Human, Mythical ensures those economies stay fair and transparent.
The collaboration also introduces a technical advancement: Mythical Games will launch Mythos Chain as the first Layer 3 blockchain on top of World Chain, which itself is a Layer 2 network built on Ethereum’s OP Stack.
By building an L3 on top of an L2 chain, Mythical is attempting to gain scalability, human-verified access, and optimized blockchain economics. This means cheaper UTXs/gas and prioritized blockspace for its 17 million users.
WLD, the native currency of the World network, is trading at $0.7200 after a 20.58% drop in the past week as it holds the 49th spot with a market capitalization of about $1.63 billion.
