Ledger launches new generation Nano device, wallet application, and institutional enterprise multi-signature platform
Foresight News reported, according to The Block, that crypto hardware wallet provider Ledger has launched its latest line of security products, including the new Ledger Nano Gen5 device, a redesigned Ledger Wallet (formerly known as Ledger Live) application, and an upgraded institutional enterprise multi-signature platform. Ledger's hardware wallets will now be renamed Ledger Signer.
The Nano Gen5 is equipped with Bluetooth and NFC connectivity, an e-ink touchscreen, as well as features such as clear signing, transaction review, and the Ledger Recovery Key (a physical "backup key" that can be tapped to recover a crypto wallet when needed). Tony Fadell, inventor of the iPod and a member of Ledger's board, collaborated with designer Susan Kare to create personalized icons for the device. The Nano Gen5 is now available for sale at a price of $179.
Ledger has also launched the newly renamed Ledger Wallet application (formerly Ledger Live). The team stated that the app is designed to be "an intuitive control center for your digital value." In addition to buying, selling, trading, and swapping services, it also supports direct connections to decentralized applications such as 1inch, and integrates Noah's "cash-to-stablecoin" feature, allowing users to convert fiat currency to USDC without incurring additional fees.
