FIFA faces criminal complaint over 2026 World Cup token
Jinse Finance reported that the Swiss gambling regulatory authority has filed a criminal complaint against FIFA after the agency conducted a preliminary investigation into the sale of blockchain tokens related to World Cup tickets. According to an official statement on its website, Gespa (which also oversees lotteries and sports betting) stated that the FIFA Collect platform constitutes an unlicensed gambling service in Switzerland and is therefore illegal.
