ZachXBT criticizes Circle for freezing hacker funds: This is the most useless freeze operation I have ever seen
BlockBeats News, on October 14, Bitrace published an article disclosing that Circle recently implemented preventive freezing measures on four EVM addresses. Intelligence indicates that the funds in these addresses originated from a theft incident related to a certain exchange, in which the attacker made huge profits by purchasing ETH.
On-chain detective ZachXBT commented on this incident, saying, "I can only say, this is probably one of the most useless freezing operations I've ever seen:
· By warning the hacker in advance, they will try to freeze these addresses
· The frozen addresses hold DAI, not USDC
· The hacker only needs to transfer DAI to a new address and then swap it for USDC."
