WisdomTree acquires Ceres Partners to expand custody and tokenization markets
Jinse Finance reported that crypto ETF issuer WisdomTree has announced the completion of its acquisition of alternative asset management firm Ceres Partners. This transaction will enable WisdomTree to expand its business into the fields of exchange-traded products (ETP), custody, and tokenization markets. The acquisition amount includes $275 million in cash paid at the closing of the transaction and up to $225 million in earn-out consideration. (Note: Earn-out consideration is a common valuation adjustment mechanism in acquisition transactions, where the buyer pays additional funds based on the target company's achievement of specific metrics after the basic consideration is paid. Unlike betting agreements, earn-out adjustments focus more on quantifiable and objective data, reducing human intervention factors.)
