Vitalik: Base L2 Model Correctly Balances Ethereum Security and User Experience
ChainCatcher reported that Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin praised Base for adopting the correct Layer 2 development path. He pointed out that as an L2 on Ethereum, Base provides a superior user experience while ensuring security through its connection to the Ethereum base layer.
Vitalik emphasized that Base adopts a non-custodial model, with user funds controlled by Ethereum L1, making it impossible for operators to steal or block withdrawals. Even if the L2 is shut down, users can automatically withdraw their funds, demonstrating true decentralized security features rather than simply submitting data hashes.
