According to the Sci-Tech Innovation Board Daily on August 30 (Editor: Song Ziqiao), the 2025 Meta Connect Conference will be held in the United States from September 17 to 18. According to Meta's CTO, Meta is expected to release the display-equipped smart glasses Celeste, the third-generation RayBan-Meta glasses, as well as the sports-style Oakley glasses at the event, and may also showcase brand new "metaverse software," redefining AI glasses from the perspectives of hardware, interaction, and software.
Meta is regarded as a trendsetter in the smart glasses industry. After the phenomenal launch of Ray-Ban Meta, major internet giants, smart hardware manufacturers, and even traditional eyewear companies—including Google, Samsung, Amazon, Meta, Huawei, ByteDance, Alibaba, Xiaomi, and others—have entered the market, planning to launch their own smart glasses products. Apple is reportedly developing four AR/XR smart glasses models.
Looking ahead to the coming year, many major companies will launch new AI glasses and AR glasses products. How are A-share companies positioning themselves in this new consumer electronics track?
According to incomplete statistics from the Sci-Tech Innovation Board Daily, based on the 2025 interim reports and subsequent performance briefings, multiple companies such as Goertek , Lens Technology , and Rockchip have all made layouts in the smart glasses sector, involving hardware manufacturing, optical display, algorithms, chips, and key components.
According to Lens Technology's semi-annual report, in the first half of the year, the company achieved breakthroughs in core processes such as waveguide lens yield optimization and high-precision automated assembly, and successfully achieved mass production and delivery of AI glasses for leading domestic customers. During institutional research, the company stated that the current bottleneck in AI glasses production capacity still lies in the limited capacity of core modules and waveguide lenses. In addition, recent news indicates that Lens Technology will exclusively supply core components for Meta's new AI glasses, and related components are already in production.
Goertek mentioned in its interim report that its precision component business and smart hardware business segments, including AI smart glasses and smart wearables, are all progressing smoothly.
Rockchip revealed at its interim performance briefing that there are already AI glasses customer projects using its products, and it has further optimized AI anti-shake, encoding and decoding technologies for sports scenarios such as AI glasses.
Zecheng Electronics stated that in the first half of the year, newly developed AI glasses customers achieved mass production and delivery, and AI glasses product projects have begun to enter the mass production stage.
Zhuozhao Dispensing said that it has received orders for millions of units in both the visual inspection field and the Meta AI glasses field, and mass production and delivery are progressing smoothly.
ArcSoft stated that it is vigorously expanding AI glasses algorithm research and application, and can provide most mainstream AI glasses visual AI algorithm products currently on the market, having assisted multiple AI glasses companies in launching their first products. According to the company's communication records, in the first half of 2025, it has signed contracts with 5-6 AI glasses brands, among which Thunderbird AI glasses will debut in the first quarter of 2025, and more brands will be released in the second quarter and beyond.
Lante Optics 's glass wafer products have already been introduced into multiple terminal AR glasses applications, but the industry has not yet reached the stage of large-scale mass production, so the current contribution to the company's performance is relatively small. At the 2025 interim performance briefing, the company's board secretary Zheng Binjie stated that waveguide display modules, as the core component of AR glasses, are crucial for the next stage of large-scale mass production and experience upgrades of AR glasses.
AWINIC revealed in recent research that its products are applied in related AR/AI glasses, and the combination of AR glasses with AI large models is bound to usher in a new round of rapid development. AR products equipped with AWINIC chips "will be gradually introduced to everyone."
Geke Microelectronics revealed that in the first half of the year, 5-megapixel CIS has already been mass-produced in AI glasses projects.
Industry Catalysts Continue, Domestic Policies Continue to Strengthen
The consumer electronics industry is undergoing a paradigm shift from "mobile computing" to "spatial computing," and smart terminal devices represented by AI glasses are expected to open up a new paradigm for human-computer interaction. With the implementation of national subsidies for new purchases, a surge in AI glasses shipments, and breakthroughs in core technologies, the market penetration rate of smart glasses is gradually increasing.
IDC predicts that domestic shipments of AI glasses in 2025 are expected to exceed 2.75 million units, a year-on-year increase of 107%. Wellsenn XR is even more optimistic, projecting global AI smart glasses sales to reach 3.5 million units in 2025, a 230% increase over 2024. By 2030, AI+AR technology is expected to mature, and smart glasses will enter a period of rapid development, with global AI smart glasses shipments expected to grow to 90 million units by 2030.
Dongguan Securities stated that with the support of domestic policies, AI terminals are expected to accelerate their rollout. On August 26, the State Council issued an opinion on thoroughly implementing the "Artificial Intelligence+" initiative, aiming for the penetration rate of new-generation smart terminals and intelligent agents to exceed 70% by 2027, over 90% by 2030, and for China to fully enter a new stage of intelligent economy and intelligent society development by 2035.
Huatai Securities research report pointed out that, with the continuous improvement of AI model capabilities, the glasses product form has long-term potential as an always-on interaction entry point; it also suggests paying attention to the short-term catalysts brought to the industry chain by the recent release of new products from leading companies.
The institution recommends focusing on two main lines: First, the release of new Meta products may drive upward revisions in sales expectations for 2025-2026, bringing potential catalysts to its core supply chain. It recommends paying attention to Goertek, with related supply chain companies including Universal Scientific Industrial , etc.; Second, the inflection point for AR glasses products is approaching, so focus on optical display and other segments with both volume and price growth logic, including: 1) Waveguide and upstream: the institution recommends Crystal-Optech and Sunny Optical Technology, with upstream glass wafer and silicon carbide substrate-related companies including Lante Optics, Tianyue Advanced , etc.; 2) Display: the institution recommends OmniVision Group , with related companies including JBD (not listed), HC Semitek , etc.; 3) Lenses and lamination: related companies include Conant Optical, Mingyue Lens , etc.
