A User Loses 140 ETH Worth Approximately $636,000 Due to Address Poisoning and Accidental Transfer
BlockBeats News, August 15 — According to monitoring by Scam Sniffer, one hour ago, a victim lost 140 ETH, worth $636,559, after copying the wrong address from a contaminated transaction history.
In an address poisoning attack, attackers send small transactions (usually zero-value or tiny “dust” transfers) to the target wallet, causing the fake wallet address to appear in the target’s transaction history. The forged address closely resembles the user’s frequently used address, tricking users into mistakenly copying and pasting the attacker’s address and sending funds to it.
