According to ChainCatcher, as disclosed by Eleanor Terrett, the confirmation process for Brian Quintenz, nominee for Chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), has encountered resistance. Internal emails obtained through the Freedom of Information Act indicate that Quintenz may have accessed confidential CFTC information while serving as a board member of the prediction market platform Kalshi, raising ethical concerns.
The White House has requested the Senate Agriculture Committee to postpone the originally scheduled nomination vote.
