Linea Unveils Tokenomics: Total Supply Around 72 Billion Tokens, 9% Airdropped to Early Users
According to ChainCatcher, as officially announced, the LINEA tokenomics are as follows: the total supply is 72,009,990,000 (approximately 72 billion) tokens, which is 1,000 times the initial circulating supply of ETH. Its distribution model echoes Ethereum’s genesis allocation: 85% of the supply is dedicated to the ecosystem, while the remaining 15% is allocated to the treasury. Early users will receive tokens from a pool equivalent to 9% of the total supply, which will be airdropped and fully unlocked at TGE. Eligibility for the airdrop will be assessed based on a series of criteria, including LXP and on-chain metrics. Full details and individual eligibility information will be announced via the official eligibility checker prior to TGE. In addition to the user airdrop, 1% of the LINEA token supply will be reserved for strategic builders within the ecosystem and will be fully unlocked at TGE, including core applications and the community.
75% of the LINEA token supply is allocated to the Ecosystem Fund, which is managed by an alliance including ENS Labs, Eigen Labs, SharpLink, Status, and Consensys. Approximately 25% of the fund allocation will be used to support the ecosystem’s launch within the first 12-18 months, while the remaining 50% will be gradually released over 10 years. This fund will be used to finance protocol R&D, shared infrastructure, open-source tools, and to establish strategic partnerships with developers aligned with its goals. 15% of the total token supply is allocated to the treasury. These tokens will be locked for five years and cannot be transferred until the full vesting period is complete.
ETH is used as the network’s gas token. After deducting L1 costs, 20% of the gas fees will be burned, reducing the supply of ETH and enhancing its monetary premium, while the remaining 80% of the gas fees will be used to burn LINEA.
