A recent report from Standard Chartered revealed that treasury firms have accumulated 1,26 million ETH—about 1% of all Ethereum in circulation—since June, marking a new trend in institutional adoption of the asset. The study was led by Geoffrey Kendrick, the bank's global head of digital asset research.

Kendrick projects that this volume could grow tenfold, reaching 10% of the total ETH supply in the future. For comparison, treasury companies operating with Bitcoin hold approximately 4,4% of the total circulating BTC.
According to the report, the accelerated growth is related to the regulatory advantage of publicly listed companies, which serve as a vehicle for indirect exposure to ETH in regions with restricted direct access. This model allows such companies to trade at a market value higher than the net asset value of their assets—a phenomenon known as a positive NPV multiple.
The report also highlights that Ethereum offers advantages over Bitcoin, such as a staking yield of around 3% and greater integration with decentralized finance (DeFi) solutions, which are not yet covered by traditional ETFs in the United States.
Among the companies that stand out in ETH accumulation is BitMine (BMNR), which aims to hold 5% of all Ethereum in circulation, which would represent the acquisition of approximately 6 million units of the asset. The company recently doubled its ETH reserves, positioning itself as a leader in this segment.
Close behind is SharpLink Gaming (SBET), backed by Consensys and Ethereum co-founder Joe Lubin. The company increased its reserves to over 438 ETH after a new round of purchases. The latest acquisition alone, of 77.210 ETH, surpassed the total issued by the network in the last month.
Other companies adopting Ethereum-centric strategies in 2025 include BTCS (BTCS), GameSquare Holdings (GAME), and The Ether Machine. All are part of the movement to integrate ETH into corporate treasuries as part of a long-term financial strategy.
