Oklahoma Introduces New Law to Regulate Cryptocurrency ATMs and Protect Seniors from Scams
According to News On 6, a new law in Oklahoma, USA, aims to prevent scammers from using cryptocurrency ATMs to steal funds, especially from the elderly. The law, which will take effect in November, sets a withdrawal limit of no more than $2,000 for first-time users within 72 hours, requires self-service ATMs to be licensed and tracked, and allows scam victims to seek refunds within 14 days after reporting the incident. Lawmakers and the Oklahoma chapter of the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) stated that this law is a step toward protecting local residents from the growing threat of digital fraud.
