Bank of England member Green: Short-term prices rebound, but anti-inflation will continue

Glin, a member of the Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of England, said at an economic conference on Saturday that despite an acceleration in consumer price growth in the short term, the UK's anti-inflation stance will continue. Glin said: "The anti-inflation process is still ongoing, although inflation has actually risen in the past few months, and we expect it to continue to rise in the third quarter of this year." Glin said: "Despite facing short-term price peaks, we expect the inflation rate to continue to decline in the medium term to our target of 2%." Glin is seen as one of the most hawkish officials at the Bank of England. Although she supported a 25 basis point rate cut to 4.25% last month, like some other policymakers, she tends to keep borrowing costs unchanged.
