Consensys Founder: Ethereum is the Infrastructure for the Reconstruction of the Modern Financial System

Joseph Lubin, founder of Consensys and co-founder of Ethereum, pointed out in a column in the Financial Times that the current financial system is facing structural pressures such as a crisis of trust, high inflation, and debt accumulation. He believes that blockchain networks like Ethereum are akin to the role of the HTTP internet protocol in the 1990s, providing a decentralized, programmable new infrastructure for the global financial system. Lubin emphasizes that this is not about replacing traditional banks and fiat currencies, but about building an open financial architecture that coexists and interoperates with the existing system, which has already been adopted by institutions like BlackRock and JPMorgan.
