Semler Scientific Buys $50M BTC, Boosts Holdings to 4,264 BTC

Achieving a remarkable feat, Semler Scientific (SMLR), which is listed on the Nasdaq, revealed that it had purchased $50 million worth of Bitcoin. The company bought 455 BTC between May 13 and May 22, spending an average of $109,801 per Bitcoin. Notably, this is the third-largest Bitcoin purchase made by the company since May 2024.
With the latest acquisition, the total BTC holdings of Semler Scientific are 4,264 BTC, valued at $474.4 million. This company has invested $390 million in BTC, buying each Bitcoin for an average price of $91,471, factoring in fees for transactions.
Semler’s ATM Fuels Bitcoin Growth
Semler used his At-the-Market (ATM) offering program to obtain the money needed to purchase Bitcoin. By April 2025, the company had sold 3,003,488 shares in the program, gaining $114.8 million in revenue. Semler draws from a program worth $500 million to fund the ATM offering, which supports its investment plan.
With the aid of Bitcoin Yield, the company keeps track of its Bitcoin holdings to determine if the firm is growing financially. By May 22, 2025, the company saw its Bitcoin Yield rise to 25.8% for the year, a sign of the digital asset portfolio’s growth. This metric enabled investors to observe the company’s progress and judge any effect its Bitcoin holding might have on the share price.
