US CFTC Commissioner Summer Mersinger Plans to Become CEO of Blockchain Association After Resignation
Summer Mersinger, a commissioner of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), plans to step down to become the CEO of the blockchain industry lobbying organization, Blockchain Association. Mersinger has served as a CFTC commissioner since 2022, actively advocating for clear regulatory rules for crypto assets and supporting greater regulatory authority for the CFTC in the digital asset sector. This personnel change is seen as the latest move by the crypto industry to seek stronger policy influence in Washington.
