Solana Co-Founder: L1 Protocols Should Be Flexible Enough to Retain Applications
Solana co-founder Toly stated on X that the underlying L1 protocol should be flexible enough to allow applications to conduct business in any way they desire. If applications can differentiate in terms of priority and develop their business in this way, they will do so. If the L1 protocol hinders their growth, they will leave L1. It's that simple. It doesn't matter whether an idea is good or bad. Even preventing applications from trying bad ideas they think might help growth can motivate them to leave L1.
