BlackRock’s Bitcoin ETF nears 600,000 BTC with $55B reserves
BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) is approaching a major milestone, holding 588,687 BTC as of April 27, 2025, valued at approximately $55.3 billion.
This places IBIT just 11,314 BTC short of reaching 600,000 BTC in reserves, reflecting accelerated growth fueled by recent inflows.
U.S. spot Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) ETFs collectively attracted $3.06 billion in inflows last week, contributing to a total of $38.43 billion since January 11, 2024.
On April 25 alone, IBIT added $240 million, reinforcing its position as the largest bitcoin ETF by assets under management.
With roughly 19.85 million BTC in circulation, IBIT controls about 2.97% of the total bitcoin supply.
Fidelity’s FBTC and Grayscale’s GBTC are the only other ETFs holding more than 100,000 BTC, with 199,685 BTC and 191,191 BTC respectively, valued at $18.76 billion and $17.9 billion.
Together, these three funds manage nearly 980,000 BTC, accounting for 4.93% of bitcoin’s circulating supply and valued at $92 billion.
Other notable holders include Ark Invest’s ARKB with 52,604 BTC, Grayscale’s Bitcoin Mini Trust with 42,079 BTC, and Bitwise’s BITB holding 39,020 BTC.
Combined, these three smaller funds hold about 133,700 BTC, worth $12.5 billion, or 0.67% of total supply.
An additional six ETFs collectively hold 32,646 BTC, valued at just over $3 billion.
In total, U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs hold approximately 1,145,912 BTC, representing 5.77% of the circulating bitcoin supply and valued at $107.7 billion.
When including international ETFs and corporate holdings, the volume of bitcoin committed to long-term storage is significantly larger.
At the time of reporting, the Bitcoin price was $93,325.38.
