North Korean hackers reportedly used mixed-coin funds to purchase 437.6 billion PEPE coins on March 11, valued at $3.1 million USD
According to a post by on-chain detective ZachXBT on his personal channel, a highly credible investigation into Tornado Cash asset theft shows that on March 11, 2025, after using Tornado Cash for coin mixing, North Korean hackers used some ETH funds to purchase 437.6 billion PEPE coins worth $3.1 million. A more detailed analysis shows that the North Korean hackers encountered asset theft through a problematic Tornado Cash user interface.
