Survey: Majority of investors expect the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates one to two times this year
A survey by Bank of America in January showed that 79% of global fund managers expect the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates in 2025, with only 2% expecting a rate hike. Bank of America stated that 39% of respondents anticipate two rate cuts, while 27% believe there will be one cut and 13% foresee three cuts. Only 2% predict the Fed will raise rates this year. Institutional data shows that the money market's expectation for this year's rate cut is slightly higher than 25 basis points.
