Former US SEC litigation advisor: It is expected that the number of cases brought against cryptocurrency companies will decrease in the new year
On December 26, Teresa Goody Guillén, former litigation consultant for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and partner at BakerHostetler law firm, stated that she expects the number of cases brought by the SEC against cryptocurrency companies to decrease in the new year. In future, the SEC will only be able to bring lawsuits in cases involving securities. Therefore, if a lawsuit does not involve securities, this agency will hand over these wrongdoers to the Department of Justice and other regulatory agencies such as the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
