Blob transactions have reached 100% utilization rate
With the significant increase in Blob inscription transactions on the Ethereum network, Blob transactions on Ethereum have reached 100% utilization. Currently, the maximum limit for each block on Ethereum is 6 Blobs. According to data from Dune's analysis dashboard, recently 41% of Blob transactions are Blob inscription transactions. Inscriptions are mainly used for storing data on-chain, including image metadata, but blob transaction data can only be accessed within a maximum of 21 days. The surge in activity has also led to an increase in basic fees for blobs. Data from Galaxy Research shows that the median fee for L2 transactions over the past 24 hours is about 4 cents.
