Fox Business reporter: The U.S. SEC committee may still delay the approval of spot Bitcoin ETF
Fox Business journalist Eleanor Terrett wrote that there is an "interesting" reminder that the U.S. SEC committee, consisting of five members, may still delay the approval of a bitcoin ETF. Although there is currently no schedule for the committee to vote on a spot bitcoin ETF, each member has the right to request a review and a full committee vote if they deem it appropriate, even if the spot bitcoin ETF has already been allocated and approved by delegation. According to Anne Kelley's analysis cited by Eleanor Terrett, even if the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission approves staff authorization, any independent SEC member is allowed to request a review of staff-authorized matters by the entire committee under 17 C.F.R. Section 201.431, which is one of the few tools non-chair members must allow. Eleanor Terrett said that the current members of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission include: Gensler (Democratic Party), Crenshaw (Democratic Party), Peirce (Republican Party), Lizárraga (Democratic Party), and Uyeda (Republican Party).
