Fox Business Reporter: The U.S. SEC may still delay the approval of BTC spot ETFs
Fox Business reporter Eleanor Terrett wrote an "interesting" reminder that the U.S. SEC, composed of five members, might still delay the approval of BTC spot ETFs. Although there is currently no scheduled timetable for voting on the BTC spot ETF by the committee, each member has the right to request a review and vote by the full committee in situations they deem appropriate, even if the BTC spot ETF has already been allocated and approved through delegated authority. According to analysis quoted by Eleanor Terrett from Anne Kelley, even if the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission approves via staff authorization, under 17 C.F.R. Section 201.431, any independent member of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission can request that matters authorized by staff be reviewed by entire commission - one of few tools non-chair members must allow for use. Eleanor Terrett stated that current members of The United States Securities and Exchange Commission include: Gensler (Democrat), Crenshaw (Democrat), Peirce (Republican), Lizárraga (Democrat) and Uyeda (Republican).
