Focus on attention - People ask me, "Why do you trade this scam?". People don’t like this token. People don’t like this platform. 1. Introduction 2. Solana 2022-2023 3. PUMP 1. Introduction They blame it for not making money this cycle, like PUMP and its memes drained all the liquidity from their tokens. Hard realities: / The altcoin space has been diluting since 2017. / Following attention and strength leads you to the right narratives, aka the coins that go up. / If you keep trading only what you like and not what the market likes, you’ll miss out 9 out of 10 times. / Narratives always shift. If you positioned yourself in the wrong ones, you are to blame for not making money. / The market moved to the meme coin narrative. PUMP was simply the one that gave it a good UX. / If it wasn’t $PUMP , it would’ve been something else. 2. Solana in 2022-2023 When Solana was trading in the flat $8-$16 range, there were countless posts about: / it being a VC scam / There was a ton of VC money ready to dump on you as they were in since 0.22 (ICO price) / You should not buy or support this, as there were many red flags / It was a Sam scam This came after many people missed out on Solana last cycle after they stuck to Ethereum only, while new market participants flocked to Solana for its slick UI, ease of use, and low fees. People hated Solana, Sam, and FTX. If you looked a bit deeper into Solana while the bear market was going on: / Communities were formed, and were still alive, that didn't care about the rest of the space. Like a new Crypto community of younger and newer people. / Activity and users grew even though (bearmarket duh) volume was down / Infrastructure for newer participants was still miles ahead compared to other chains, and improved drastically after having experienced one full cycle of building. People were blinded by their hate for Solana, the ecosystem, Sam, that it didn't make them money in the last cycle, the feeling that Solana was to blame for it, and the fact that it was down 97%. The last thing people wanted was another cycle with Solana outperformance. That hate kept them from seeing the early strength Solana showed. While most coins did nothing this cycle, Solana rallied 3500%. The market tipped its hand early, showing it liked Solana by making it outperform for months early on. Am I saying you should’ve easily spotted the fundamentals? No. Am I saying you shouldn’t have emotions, thoughts, or feelings? Also no. You could call 90 out of 100 projects VC grifts. And in bad market conditions, 95 out of 100 might look like scams. This is crypto, we’re here to make money. And yes, a lot of what grabs attention feels or IS low effort or useless. What I’m saying is this: / It’s not your job to buy what you like — it’s your job to buy what the market likes. / Don’t ignore strength, attention, or activity just because you or others don’t like it. / Most hate something simply because they didn’t make money on it — or lost money — which is a dumb reason, since most people lose money in this space anyway. If you only trade what you like and ignore strength, early outperformance, attention, cycle activity, and interest. While yelling with the herd at bottoms and tops (super bearish + super bullish), you will 100% not make money. And odds are you already missed HYPE, MEMES, and SOLANA earlier this cycle. 3. PUMP I don't care about memes, I don't like memes. I don't care about PUMP, and I don't like PUMP either. I don't like 999 out of 1000 projects in this space. You know what I do like? Spotting strength early. Trying to catch the right — or next — narrative. I'm proud of publicly catching Solana in the low 30s earlier this cycle. Proud of buying HYPE at $15–20 a few months ago. Proud of the AAVE bet at range lows on the back of the stablecoin narrative. And even buying Ethereum in the low 2000s, while everyone was panicking about the Foundation selling. Why? Because it was showing strength and had just reclaimed a massive range low. Trust me, they’re all hated at the lows. And trust me, there will always be endless reasons to call them scams. I absolutely love this game. But I don’t love or hate any altcoins: why would I? 99.9% of this sector dies every cycle anyway, and the narratives always flip again. This market is attention-driven and thrives on speculation. You can't head into a market fully following your feelings, ideals, and emotions in an attention-driven market. Currently, I see PUMP as: / The most hated asset, which can actually be a good thing / The main product from a sector the market liked earlier this cycle: memes. I think it still has a shot to play a role in the second half, even if it’s less dominant / A product with a massive, focused community that doesn't care about anything else / One of the most successful products of the cycle / One of the few that generates revenue and does buy-backs Is the founder bad for the space? Is the platform extracting? Maybe yes lol. I don’t know if it’s worse than most other projects aside from the fact that their numbers are bigger because of their success. I'm not even good at determining these things. I'm good, though, at putting my emotions aside regardless of where prices are, focusing on the chart, ignoring my personal vibes towards a sector (I don't really like memes, for example), and playing this crypto game. Maybe I’m wrong, maybe not. I’ll just execute when my triggers trigger, get in, get out. 1. I look for a potential stage 3 bottom 2. I look for the range that forms above it 3. I look for attention, community, activity, revenue, and narrative 4.
