Protests Continue as Los Angeles Extends Curfew Measures

On June 11 local time, the Central Division of the Los Angeles Police Department in California announced that due to ongoing protests, certain areas of downtown Los Angeles would continue to be under curfew from 8:00 p.m. on the 11th until 6:00 a.m. on the 12th local time. On the 10th, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass declared a state of emergency in the city, stating that a curfew would be imposed in parts of downtown from 8:00 p.m. that day until 6:00 a.m. the following morning. She also noted that the curfew could last for several days and that she would consult with relevant officials and law enforcement agencies on the 11th to determine whether to extend the curfew measures.
