Eric Trump says World Liberty will buy 'substantial position' in Trump memecoin, nixes 'official' wallet
Quick Take Earlier this week, Magic Eden and the $TRUMP token project announced a forthcoming “official” wallet and trading app. “The Trump meme and WLFI may be different lanes, but they share the same highway,” World Liberty Financial said Friday.

The Trump-branded crypto wallet and trading app announced earlier this week has been shelved following public confusion and a reported cease-and-desist letter.
Eric Trump said Friday that the Official Trump memecoin "has aligned" with World Liberty Financial, the DeFi project launched last fall with the support of President Donald Trump and his family.
"Although their meme wallet isn’t moving forward, they remain focused on building the most exciting MEME on earth - $Trump," Eric said in a post on X . "Moreover, we're proud to announce that World Liberty Financial plans to acquire a substantial position in $TRUMP for their Long-Term Treasury. We share a bigger vision for crypto, patriotism, and long-term success."
On Tuesday, Magic Eden and Fight Fight Fight LLC announced a forthcoming wallet and trading app . Magic Eden co-founder and CEO Jack Lu said users of the wallet would be able to trade TRUMP along with "major" cryptos like BTC, ETH, SOL, ADA, XRP, and DOGE.
However, President Trump’s three sons all said the Trump Organization "has zero involvement" with said wallet, and that World Liberty would release an "official" wallet. WLFI then sent a cease-and-desist letter to Fight Fight Fight, according to a Bloomberg report.
Also, earlier this week, World Liberty Financial distributed its own USD1 stablecoins to wallets that participated in the sale of the project's native token WLFI, according to Lookonchain and SlowMist.
