Standard Chartered: Bitcoin could hit new highs whether Trump or Harris is in the White House
Bitcoin is likely to end up at an all-time high by the end of this year, whether U.S. Vice President Harris or former President Donald Trump wins November's U.S. presidential election, according to Standard Chartered analyst Geoff Kendrick.Kendrick says the process of deregulation will continue through 2025 regardless of who wins, particularly the strict accounting requirements for banks' digital asset holdings, the although the process will slow under Harris. Bitcoin could also benefit from a re-steepening of the U.S. Treasury yield curve (a widening of the difference between short-term and long-term Treasury yields) as well as a seasonal rebound in bitcoin ETF inflows in October, he said. Bitcoin could rise to $125,000 by the end of the year if Trump wins and $75,000 if Harris wins.
