Bitrace: Fake APP stealing coin gangs start impersonating AICoin
PANews reported on April 30 that the blockchain data analysis company Bitrace said in a statement that recently, Bitrace has received several cases of victims downloading fake AICoins, resulting in the theft of cryptocurrencies. The victims encountered typical browser keyword bidding phishing link theft. In one case, a victim searched for the keyword AIcoin in Google Chrome and clicked the first link displayed on the homepage to enter the counterfeit official website. Shortly after downloading the application, the browser plug-in wallet in the victim's device was emptied of all assets, including more than $160,000 in losses on the BSC chain alone.
In addition, Bitrace found that fraudsters also produced other fake VPN installation packages related to cryptocurrencies, fake market apps, fake communication apps, fake exchange apps, and other complete sets of essential software for practitioners, which greatly increased the chances of potential victims being exposed to fraudulent information.
