Cardano smart contract development is progressing rapidly, with nearly 500 new ones added daily
According to CryptoPotato, Cardano (ADA) has shown strong growth in smart contract development. Since the beginning of this year, Plutus scripts on the Cardano network (including Plutus V1 and V2) have grown by 171.45%, with nearly 500 new smart contracts added daily.
Based on data from Cardano Blockchain Insights, the network has now implemented 39,000 smart contracts, with a particular focus on Plutus V2. Plutus is a programming language tailored specifically for creating smart contracts on the Cardano blockchain, based on functional programming principles prioritizing security and reliability. However, Plutus V2 introduces various advantages and features for developers. Therefore, Plutus V2 offers a range of functionalities that reduce transaction size and costs while providing developers with a more flexible and scalable framework.
Cardano has also seen significant growth in the number of active wallets on its network, reaching 600 thousand. This increase comes after Cardano's decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem surged to nearly $6 billion by early March. As reported by CryptoPotato, Cardano has become the most actively developed cryptocurrency online with the highest weekly engagement surpassing Ethereum and Avalanche.
