according to Hong Kong media Hong Kong Economic Journal, local brokers in Hong Kong have begun tightening regulations on virtual asset investments from the mainland. According to a notice sent by Victory Securities to clients, starting from December 19, 2025, a "buying ban" restriction will be implemented on virtual asset accounts identified by the system as coming from "mainland IP" addresses, a move suspected to close loopholes.
